We sold our house in North Carolina and packed up our belongings and shipped them westward. I also sold my car and quit my job in order to move across the country to California.
But before beginning our drive, we first flew from North Carolina to Michigan for Thanksgiving

and then back to North Carolina where our car was waiting at the airport for a 3000 mile trip.
Then it was on to Nashville, TN (a very special city for us that is filled with many good memories, including getting married there in May 2007)

Next we were off to Oklahoma City, OK, Amarillo, TX, Albuquerque, NM, and the Grand Canyon in AZ.

The Grand Canyon was stunning and a must-see if ever traveling through the Southwest.
The last leg of our trip included a night in the noise and lights of Las Vegas, NV where we stayed at the swanky Bellagio Hotel. Then we took a gorgeous drive up through California until finally arriving "home" in Monterey, CA.
(this is actually taken at Bixby Bridge on the PCH just outside of Carmel-by-the-Sea, which is not far from Monterey)And currently we are back on the east coast in New York celebrating the holidays with Trevor's family until Dec. 29th. And it truly feels like Christmas here with snow on the ground, a giant tree that has filled the house with a crisp pine scent, a stocking with my name on it, and a cozy fire in the wood stove.
It is nice to be settled here for a while.
This gnome's home certainly has been known to roam...
